SCORM

What is SCORM?

SCORM is a technical standard used for creating e-learning modules. It stands for Sharable Content Object Reference Model and ensures that online learning content (like e-learning modules) works seamlessly within a Learning Management System (LMS).
Think of SCORM as a universal adapter for e-learning: just like a universal plug adapter lets you charge devices anywhere in the world, SCORM makes sure that e-learning content can be used across different LMSs without modifications.

  You’ve developed an e-learning module on compliance for HR professionals. You offer this module as a SCORM package to your clients, who upload it into their LMS. Employees can then complete the training directly within the LMS. If you need to update the module later, you send a new SCORM package, which they upload again. SCORM is a great option for stable modules that don’t require frequent updates.

xAPI

What is xAPI?
xAPI is a flexible, modern successor to SCORM. Unlike SCORM, which primarily tracks learning activities within an LMS, xAPI goes much further. It allows you to collect learning data from various sources, both inside and outside an LMS.
