SCORM Proxy meaning

SCORM Proxy, part of our SCORM cloud solution, allows you to make SCORM packages available within clients’ LMS without having to upload the SCORM packages locally on those systems. Thus, your learning content never leaves the well-secured online environment in which you have stored it. This allows educators to manage their SCORM modules securely and centrally, while still allowing users to experience full functionality within their LMS. But that’s just one of the many benefits of SCORM Proxy.

Linqur SCORM Proxy: organise everything remotely

Send SCORM packages to customers

As part of our SCORM cloud solution, SCORM Proxy allows you to easily share SCORM content with clients without losing control. SCORM Proxy allows you to easily share SCORM packages with multiple clients without having to store the files locally. The content is hosted externally by Linqur, so clients can still access your e-learning modules without the hassle of file transfer and installation.

Easily update the SCORM file remotely

With SCORM Proxy, you only need to update the source content; the changes are automatically reflected in the client’s LMS. This makes updating e-learning modules fast and easy, without clients having to upload or configure new files each time.

Intellectual property (IP) preservation

Because SCORM content is hosted externally via SCORM Proxy, your SCORM files stay with you and do not have to be physically handed over to clients. This allows you to retain control over the intellectual property of your content, which minimizes the risk of unwanted distribution or duplication.

Keep track by reporting

SCORM Proxy provides visibility into the usage of your e-learning by tracking the number of user registrations. In addition, with our SCORM cloud solution, you report user progress and completion data directly to the client’s LMS. This ensures a seamless user experience where the client always has visibility into user performance and progress, without additional intermediate steps.

Secure access to your e-learning

When you host SCORM content via SCORM Proxy, you are able to apply advanced security settings. These include access control and authentication. Only authorized users can access the content, which helps protect your e-learning from unauthorized access.

Lift access to your remote e-learning

SCORM Proxy also allows you to withdraw access to e-learning modules at any time. For example, when a license has expired or the agreement has been terminated. This way you maintain control and only active customers have access to your learning content.

SCORM compliance

The Linqur platform is SCORM compliant, which means we are SCORM compliant. This allows you to seamlessly integrate learning content into any SCORM-compliant Learning Management System (LMS). SCORM compatibility ensures that content is interoperable, you can track participant progress and easily manage reporting data.

Getting started successfully with SCORM Proxy in 6 steps

    Create

  1. Upload the SCORM package to SCORM Proxy from Linqur
Upload your SCORM package into the SCORM Proxy. This creates a central, secure location where learning content is hosted and managed. The content always remains in your possession, so you never lose control of your learning content.
  2. Configure the settings
Within SCORM Proxy, you configure settings such as access rights, security options, and tracking settings to track participants’ progress. You determine who has access to the learning content, and you can apply additional restrictions such as licensing or access duration.

    Generate and share

  3. Generate and share your SCORM Proxy
After configuration, Linqur generates a SCORM Proxy file, which provides access to the SCORM package you uploaded. You then send this file to your clients. This SCORM Proxy package integrates the client into their own LMS, allowing participants easy access without having to download the SCORM file directly.

    Monitor and manage

  4. Track and manage remote usage
SCORM Proxy tracks the number of enrollments and these are viewable within the Linqur platform. Progress and completion data is tracked in the client’s LMS. The difference between SCORM Cloud and SCORM Proxy

SCORM Cloud is a complete hosting and distribution solution that allows you to easily manage and share e-learnings even without an in-house LMS, and offers extensive reporting capabilities within the platform. SCORM Proxy, on the other hand, is specifically designed for educators who want to share SCORM content with multiple clients without physically transferring the files. The learning content remains hosted with the provider, so they retain full control over access and ownership, and progress data is fed directly back to the client’s LMS.
