SAP SuccessFactors does not support LTI. Here is how to do it anyway
SuccessFactors Learning does not accept LTI tools. Linqur converts any LTI tool into a SCORM 1.2 package that SuccessFactors uploads like any other course. That brings external e-learning, assessments and practice environments into the platform you already use, without replacing your LMS. Want to read up first? See the LTI Provider Service.
With Linqur alongside SuccessFactors
Three blockers in SuccessFactors
SuccessFactors is strong for HR, performance and compliance. For delivering modern learning content you run into three fixed limits.
No LTI support
SuccessFactors does not accept LTI tools. There is OCN for connected content partners, but no route for your own tools, while your vendors deliver through LTI.
One item per document
Every PDF, video or SCORM package needs its own item. A course with several parts falls apart into loose activities, without a coherent learning path.
No route for external users
Giving partners and contractors access means SuccessFactors accounts and a role system to match. For people outside your organisation that is a heavy setup.
You are not the only one running into this. Customers have been asking for LTI support in SuccessFactors Learning in the SAP community for years, and SAP confirms in knowledge base article 2830483 that LTI is not supported. That is where Linqur comes in, without replacing your existing LMS.
What Linqur adds to SuccessFactors
Six things that fill the gaps, while SuccessFactors stays your main environment.
Any LTI version into SCORM 1.2
Linqur converts LTI 1.1 and LTI 1.3 Advantage tools into SCORM 1.2 packages. Standards-based, compatible with SuccessFactors, and without changing the tool itself.
Multiple files in one learning path
Bundle PDFs, videos, SCORM packages and LTI tools into a single Linqur course. SuccessFactors sees one completed activity, with completion tracked per item.
Manage SCORM remotely
Manage all your SCORM content in Linqur and publish it into SuccessFactors. Changes are live at once, without re-uploads or help from the LMS admin.
Connect external providers
External e-learning vendors, assessment platforms and practice environments connect to Linqur through one LTI link, and from there into SuccessFactors.
Several admins without role conflicts
Give content authors and L&D teams direct access to Linqur, instead of routing them through the SuccessFactors role system.
Magic Link portal for external users
A self-registration environment for partners and contractors, with optional email domain verification. Tracking and access control stay in one place.
The same outcome, a fraction of the work
SuccessFactors stays your environment for HR and compliance. For managing and delivering learning content, a lighter layer does the job.

OCN or LTI in SuccessFactors?
SuccessFactors has its own route for external content, the Open Content Network. Useful for connected content libraries, but it is not LTI. This is the difference.
Open Content Network (OCN)
The native route in SuccessFactors. Content from connected partner libraries syncs through AICC, stays hosted at the provider and reports completion back, with SSO through SAML. Limited to OCN partner providers, with no route for your own LTI tools and no multi-content learning path.
LTI through Linqur
Bring in any LTI 1.1 or LTI 1.3 tool and your own content, converted to SCORM 1.2. Not limited to a partner catalogue, with central management, multi-content learning paths and a portal for external partners.
They work side by side
OCN and Linqur do not exclude each other. Use OCN for ready-made libraries and Linqur for your own tools and content.
LTI to SCORM in three steps
From an external LTI tool to a working module in SuccessFactors. Linqur sits in between as a live bridge: configure the tool once and content updates keep flowing.
Configure the LTI tool
Add the external LTI tool in Linqur with the tool URL and the shared secret. Linqur handles the communication with the vendor from there. LTI 1.1 and LTI 1.3 Advantage are supported, with the scope configurable per course or per user.
Generate a SCORM 1.2 package
Linqur builds a SCORM 1.2 proxy package that points to the LTI tool, ready to upload, including metadata and launch settings. No local hosting or storage of content needed.
Upload into SuccessFactors
The LMS admin uploads the package once. From then on every content update flows through without re-uploads, and completion and score are reported back to SuccessFactors.
Multi-content courses and an external portal
Multi-content course
One Linqur course bundles several PDFs, videos, SCORM packages and LTI tools. Completion is tracked per item, and overall course completion is reported to SuccessFactors on rules you set yourself, for example when every document has been opened.
Magic Link portal
External partners and contractors get access through a shared link. They register themselves, with optional email domain verification. You keep control over who opens content and who completes it, without handing out SuccessFactors accounts.
